Duplicate Personal Folders

I've got a new PC and have installed Outlook 2003. I imported outlook.pst
from my old PC and have ended up with 'Personal Folders' appearing twice in
the index. Their contents is identical.
It's a bit difficult to explain so I've put a screen shot here

Is there an easy way to clean up the installation?

Nick.

Not a simple way.
This is the result of importing a PST. You will notice that we have posted
here countless times that you do not import PST files. Your profile is
corrupt. Create a new one and migrate your data correctly: open your
previous PST file, do not import it. --

I didn't know I had a profile. How do I create a new one? Where are the
instructions for a 'correct' migration?
Seems to me that the best option is to uninstall Office 2003 and re-install
it.

Thanks for the links. I haven't had time to study them but it looks like
they'll solve my problem.
Seasons greetings,
Nick.
