Make sure email scanning is disabled for your antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 same for Vista). If that's not it, then try
turning off Send and Receive at startup under Tools | Options and see if
that makes any difference.

I have two mail accounts, one, my own and a sub account for my wife. I've
been receiving duplicate messages for a few days. I noticed she wasn't
receivng any. Upon checking email account info I found that my user name and
password was used for both. Hers wasn't anywhere. I inserted her username and
pasword and know it works as advertised.
