Duplicate Machine Name in Domain Error

I am getting the following error in my event logs when booting server:

The server could not bind to the transport \Device\NetbiosSmb because
another computer on the network has the same name. The server could not
start.

There is no duplicate server name in the domain. I, several months ago,
upgrade this server from old hardware. Before I brought the new hardware
online I deleted the server in AD (running in mixed mode) from the list of
computers (was a BDC) successfully.

Thanks,
Erin
