duplicate emails

C

Christopher

when I download into Outlook Express, I get a single copy of each email.

When I download into Outlook [office 2003] I get 2 identical copies of each
email.

This has only been happening for a couple of weeks - is there anything I can
do to stop it ?

This will always happen. The 2 programs are totally independent. If you
have the same email accounts setup in both programs you will always get a
copy of each email in each program.

Hi Robert and thanks for your response

I only have one account configured in Outlook
It is a POP3 account
I do have some rules configured but they don't cover these emails that are
duplicating themselves.

Rules purely relate to placing emails in specifies folders.
AVG Anti-Virus disabled or not makes no difference.
This has only been happening for a short time and I have changed nothing and
created no further rules.
The only changes would be, I suppose, AVG and Microsoft updates.

Have you checked with your ISP. I had a similar problem but not as
consistent as your and it was my ISP's problem. Also, check your web based
mail account to see if there are 2 copies in that file. If you know anyone
else that is using that ISP, check if they are experiencing the problem.
