A friend has a computer that had Windows 2000 on it.
A second computer had windows XP on it. The XP computer's mother board wnet
bad so he installed XP on the Windows 2000 machine. Not sure exactly how he
did the install but he now has problems. For example:

1. The sound is OK in Win2000 but doesn't play in XP.
2. The hard drive assignments have been changed.

If this is not the correct news group could someone steer me in the right
direction to get some help with these issues.

TIA, John

John, it's important to know how he installed WinXP. Did he just
install XP in the same partition as Win2K? Did he
install the hard drive with XP on it in the computer with Win2K? For
the sound problem he needs the XP audio driver
for whatever sound chip or card he has. If he installed the hard drive
he is in for a lot of problems.
