Dual boot XP/Vista, can I hibernate both OSs & pick which to resto

I want to be able to switch from XP to Vista more quickly, so it would be
nice if I could hibernate both at the same time and have an option of which I
want to restore when I restart the computer. Am I asking too much of my
computer? Seem's like it would be a lovely feature to have, has anybody done
this?

You're asking for file system corruption. When you hibernate, you're
preserving the state of the computer, including things like disk
buffers of directory information. So if you run another operating
system, which modifies the file system, then the data in the
hibernation file becomes stale.

My hard disk is partitioned into two drives, C: and D:, each of which has its
own operating system and hiberfile.sys file. As long as I don't make any
drastic changes to the file system of the operating system (and its hard
drive partition) that I'm not currently using, I shouldn't encounter any
corruption. Looks like this is a pretty tall order, but maybe there's a
third party solution. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
