Dual Boot w\ Vista Home Basic Upgrade

B

Brian Weber

Can I have a dual boot configuration with Windows XP Professional on C
partition, and Vista Home Basic UPGRADE on D partition. ?. Or does it have
to be Windows XP Home on C Partition ?
I'm just confused about the upgrade options I will have with the
upgrade DVD.
I know I should of bought the full version, I just couldn't afford it.
Thanks in advance
Sincerely; Brian

Hi Brian,

Upgrade implies that you upgrade a qualifying system. The license for the
upgraded system becomes part of the license to run Vista. You cannot
continue to use the old license for a different installation. Nor does the
license allow for you to create a dual boot with the qualifying product. To
upgrade with Vista Home Basic, you need to start from within a working XP
Home installation.

Thanks Rick: Could I possibly have my Windows XP professional as my C
partition, and XP Home upgraded into Vista Home Basic as my D partition ?
Thanks
