I have windows 2000,SP4 installed. I do have two volumes aailable to install
Windows xp pro. When I try to install from the CD or from the six (6) set up
disk, the Windows SetUp screen stays on for hours, nothing happens. How can I
install xp pro as part as a dual boot.

Thanks,

George Clark

Key thing to watch-for is to make sure the partition you intend to install-to
is the Active Partition, before you run setup. If that is not he case you
will run into serious problems.

(You can use DOS FDISK (from a boot disk) to change the active partition,
though Ranish Partition Manager is a more user-friendly tool)

I solved this problemby disconnecting everything except the keyboard and
mouse. All is good now.
Thanks
