I already got a laptop preinstalled with XP home. I have an older copy of XP
pro on a CD. I would like to install this Older Copy of XP pro in another
partition so that I can dual boot.

I want to install XP on another partition to try out softwares and changes
in applications.

Can they co exist. Is this possible? Please let me know.

Every operating system must be installed in its own partition.
If you currently have just one partition, then you'll need to
create a second partition for Windows XP Pro. You'll need
a third-party partitioning program, such as Partition Magic 8,
if you wish to preserve your existing Windows XP Home
Edition installation. And yes, you can dual-boot easily as
XP Pro will automatically create a dual-boot loader.

A good third-party partitioning program is Partition Magic 8.
