Okay I have applied the DST patch to my Windows XP/Vista, SBS 2003 Server,
Exchange (part of SBS) and Outlook 2003. However all of my appointments in
Outlook are now 1hr later (ie an 8am appointment now is at 9am).

I remove the "adjust for daylight savings" tick under adjust time and the
appointments change back to their correct times, but the clock is out.

I can't work out what has gone wrong. the patch is applied and the daylight
savings time adjusts just fine, but the appointments shouldn't move!!!

Any suggestions anyone, this is driving me crazy and has my boss breathing
down my neck for an explanation??

Thanks

Damien

Thanks, but I already tried that and also tried the Exchange Calendar tool
(except it fails).

I have just had a client call with the same problem, they have 30 staff who
rely solely on their calendar appointments (they are accountants).

From all my searches, this has been occuring since 2007, why hasn't MS done
anything about correcting this obvious bug in their system. DST isn't like
changing a TimeZone, all appointments SHOULD remain where they are, not
shift an hour!!??

it is very frustrating!!

thanks again, any other suggestions?

But they DO stay where they were. Outlook keeps everything in UTC time
internally. That's immutable. When you change time zones or DST, your
clock changes, but the meetings stay at the exact time they were. You want
them to change times automatically based on your clock and DST. Outlook
doesn't do that and shouldn't.

okay I have heard from the client again this morning.

What we initially did was set the clock to non DST and manually set the
clock to the correct time. This now displays all the calendar appointments
at their correct time - except, not when they look forward to when their old
DST start date and beyond, all those appointments are now 1 hour ahead (ie
instead of 9am they are now 8am).

I have searched high and low for a solution and it appears that this has
been occuring since 2007 when one of the last DST updates occured. Why
wasn't this rectified 18months ago?

The only times that seem to be changed are the ones in between the new DST
start date and the old DST start date and the old DST end date and the new
DST end date.

What can be run that will fix 30+ Calendars without the need to manually
adjust each appointment? And more importantly on which system are they run
and and is there a specific order in which these need to be run?

All the systems have had the Windows DST patch installed.

Thanks but this is now extremely urgent!

Regards

Damien
