Recently I have been having a problem with dropped connections. I have contacted my phone company and they said it has to do with my ISP-I contacted my ISP and they can't seem to do anything. I have Windows XP and I use Internet Explorer 6.0-do you have any suggestions about this problem that I have? Thank You for your time.

I am having the same problem. My high speed caple connection works fine afer I reboot, but if I leave the computer for 30 minutes or so, when I try to connect again through Internet explorer or AOL it won't display the page. The connection dialog box shows an active connection, there's an IP address and all the lights are lit on the cable modem. My ISP tells me the signal to my modem is getting through. I have disabled my Firewall & virus software but this does not resolve the problem. After a reboot I can connect w/o incident.

Try going to device manager..right click your network card and make
sure Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is not
checked.
