driver problems: DVD-ROM not detected

My IBM ThinkPad's DVD-ROM is not detected by the laptop. When I checked
Device Manager, it said that the driver was missing or corrupted. I then
checked my Event Viewer and found out that redbook.sys and cdrom.sys weren't
initiated during startup. How do I fix this?
