I have a WinXP machine based upon an ASUS motherboard with Soundmax
integrated digital audio.
Connected via the MIDI port is a Yamaha PSR-620 (General MIDI) keyboard.
If I inspect the Control Panel|Sound and Audio Devices properties|Audio|Midi
music playback I find that only the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW syth option is
available. There is no option for an external MIDI device. This means that
I can play MIDI files via the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW syth but cannot
output to the external MIDI device.
Why is this? The driver for the Soundmax audio seems to be installed ok but
no option for this appears in the MIDI music playback control panel option.
Please can anyone help?
