Driver conflict with creative audigy 2 platinum ex & windows XP

After installing creative audigy 2 platinum ex soundcard
on my sony vaio (windows XP home OS)I now have problems
booting up. After a boot up, I check my windows task box
to discover that the CPU is running at 100%. When I hit
restart, an "end program now" box appears. The name of
the file is ctspkhlp.dll. After several bootups, it
finally loads correctly (I Guess). ny Suggestions?

All Creative sound cards load tons of stuff (unless its a basic card) and
this is the reason people buy the cards. If you don't need or use all that
additional crap (which people think makes them sound engineers or sumpin)
try un installing it.. You can use XP drivers without adding all the bloat
which, for my machine, has caused lottsa problems in the past...

I have the same card under XP and had the same problem.
What worked as a fix for me was: Turn off virus software,
from the task panel close all the creative progs.
ie;cthelper, ctdvddet,ctsvccda,ctsysvol,ctms?(media
source, I dont run it normally) after having done that
upgrade with the newest drivers and software from creative
and that should fix it. It did for me. If you run into
trouble just drop an e-mail.

Peace,

Dan
