All of a sudden my A drive (floppy), D drive (Zip) and E
drive (CD ROM) are not accessible. message is "A:\ is not
accessible. Incorrect function>" Although my CD ROM drive
works OK when reading music. Does anyone know how to
correct this problem?

Afraid not but I have the exact same problem; that is why
I am here, searching the Web for a solution. With me it is
my:

A: Floppy
D: CD-RW024010
E: DVD-ROM

I know the hardware works; I access the Floppy under DOS.

It was a couple of months ago now. I installed Norton
Internet Security but I am not pointing the finger because
I've totally forgotten the timeline of when I did what and
when I first noticed the problem.

I RESOLVED THE CD-ROM OR FLOPPY INACCESSIBLE PROBLEM (FOR
ME ANYWAY) by uninstalling "Norton Internet Security".

This problem or similar was also reported in the last few
weeks by:

"David E. Oakley" <[email protected]> 8-24
"FrankV" <[email protected]> 8-30
"Eric S. Schurmann" <[email protected]> 9-03
"Fadi" <[email protected]> 9-15
"Gregg" <[email protected]> 9-17
"Gregg" <[email protected]> (same guy?) 9-17

Now I see that "Senator" <[email protected]> has much
more info on this in his 2003-9-03 post. He did not use
the keywords "not accessible" and inaccessible. I also
have Nero Burning Rom installed. Hope this helps to point
the way.
