Incorrect Function

All of a sudden, I can not access my cd Rom D Drive or my
floppy A Drive. When I click on them in explorer I get a
message D:\ is not accessible Incorrect Function. Why is
this happening and how can I fix it. Thank you in advance

Probably some software has installed "filter" drivers on the CD

You can remove these filter drivers to see if it helps:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Look for values "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters". Set them both blank
and reboot.

If this causes some problem, you can boot with "last known good" to
restore the old settings, or just export and re-import the key before
making changes.

The other possibility is that the drive has failed -- not uncommon with
CD drives. About $30 at your local computer store for a nice CD-RW.

Try disabling Norton AutoProtect.
