Drive expolrer problem

Hi,

I'm currently running XP pro SP2 with all available updates.

My problem is trying to explor anyone of my hard drives. I encounterd this
problem a while ago and put it down to a virus or something I did. I have
just installed from scratch XP on a new hard drive, I've updated everything
and I still get the same problem.

When I double click from "My Computer" window on a listed hard drive I get
the "Open With" screen. When I browes to "explorer.exe" I can then explor the
drive, as there's no extension I cannot tick "Always use the selected program
...."

Has anybody come across this before and if so how have you been able to
resolve it?
