Drive A: is not formatted

Whenever I try to load a floppy disk into my a: drive it keeps coming up with the message "Drive A is not formatted. Do wish to format now?
I've tried different discs and no luck. I have also tried the same disk on different computers and it works every time. Why won't it work on my computer??!! I have tried to format the disk like it asked (and as Microsoft suggests), but it won't even allow me to format it

Time to buy a new floppy drive, or at least try that drive in another PC.

Before you buy another drive. Go to Device Manager and remove your floppy
drive and reboot. I had this same problem and it fixed it. Worth a go
anyway.
