can't Open floppy drive

My floppy drive will not open disk
Has worked for years, but probably haven't used in months. did a complete
system restore last month
Received error message' disk in drive A not formatted'
Try to format - doesn't execute
can not open files in drive A

If no luck, you may consider replacing your floppy disk drive, or even
switching to a memory card reader. Floppy disks are on their way out.
