Drisk drive missing

My Pioneer DVD RW is not showing up anywhere. It has disappeared. How do I find a drive that has disappered?
I had taken out a broken CD RW Drive recently, could that have anything to do with the disappearing drive?

There may be left over registry references. To tidy up, get a registry
patch file, cdgone.reg, from www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract
it, r-click on it and merge it into the registry

You will then need to reinstall any burning CD software that you use.
