Dreaded red X

I cannot view any .gif content (even the picutes at the
top of this page are the red X) after downloading 6.0.28
running under window 98. Any ideas?

Tools, Internet Options, Advanced - show-images off?

Otherwise, is there a firewall, popup stopper, etc, running?

Can you see images in another browser?

I have sort of the same problem. I see .gif on some sites
without any problem but others I don't see at all. I see
the Google .gif the other responder refered to.
