drawing failed - emailed picture

I am using XP and Windows Picture Viewer.
Pictures are created in Jpeg format.
Emails of pics that I send to myself cannot be opened.
I get a message "Drawing failed".

Emails of same files to other people only partial open.

Appreciate the help.

I have sized them down from 900kb to 300kb and 130kb.
Still get drawing failed.

Another bit of info...The pics email fine if I send them
directly from the Compactflash drive, rather than from a
jpeg file saved on the hard drive.
