Me again,
Somethimes when I download stuff the download says it is finished when it
has only done like 36 or 57% of the file/files.
Why is that?

someone told me that you mustn´t trust either time displays or percent
displays @windows. the time "lag" may depend on ram usage by other
programms.... the percent , he said, just don´t really trust it.

i dunno if he´s right... didn´t ever appear to me

I think it is because of a bad connection from the server you are downloading
from. Retry downloading, or try downloading from somewhere else or try
another time.

IE is idiotic in that respect. Seeing as I'm on a slow dialup connection. my
pc and the server I'm getting the file from "time-out".

IE should tell you what REALLY happened (least don't know why not) but
instead you end up with the "... Successful ..." dialog. Then you try to
open/run/whatever the file and it's "corrupted" because it's not all there.

Except for small files, I do all I can to get the download going within a
download manager that will resume where the data got "broken".
