I have a new PC and am new to XP, when I download a pdf I end up with a bunch of linear unreadable sets of numbers. What am I doing wrong?
ps; I am using AOL

Follow Carey's advise but here's the explanation.

When you have NO program that understands the file format you end up with
one of a few download results:
1) It refuses to download (not usual in the modern case)
2) It offers to download it to the file system but you cannot look
at it (effectively)
3) It opens it in some "other" program which may or may not make
sense out of the file
(your results apparently.)

Installing Adobe Reader (it's free) will allow you to view these PDF files,
either independently
or within the Internet Explorer frame (Reader will integrate with IE for
this to work.)

Note: Adobe Reader is one of the LARGEST downloads around for a program
that does
so little.
