Downloading Files

I am unable to download any files off of any websites. I
am using Internet Explorer 6 and I don't know what the
problem is. I will click on a link to a pdf file. for
example, and I won't be able to download the file (I have
acrobat reader). I get a message that IE can't find the
website or it is unavailable, yet when I try on another
computer, it comes through fine. Need help!
