Downloading Error

Every time I log on to my computer, I am getting a
downloading update 33% message. It never goes any
further, and I can't stop it or check to see what it is
doing. NEED HELP.

Is this Windows automatic updates? As in, the little globe with the windows
logo, in your system tray?
