This morning I got a graphic from Microsoft saying that I
needed to install the software upgrade ( I think to
prevent the worm that was spread around last week ). I
started to install it as it ran for about 3-5 minutes
then it locked up my computer (the mouse wouldn't move
and nothing was happening-I let it sit for about a half
hour). After waiting I finally turned off my computer.
When I restarted it it started up as usual until it
stopped and gave the following message "c000021a (fatal
system error) The windows logon process teriminated
unexpectedly with a status of 0x0000000080 (0x00000000
0x00000000) The system has been shut down" What do I do?
I have my system recovery disk but I don't want to lose
my programs. Any help out there?

Did u contact ur computer provider (hence the system
recovery disks). Can u boot? Did u get the update through
an e-mail, or through the windows update website??

Microsoft never send out updates by e-mail, so it may be a
virus.
