Hi,

When booting I have this error message:

-----------------------------------
STOP c000021a {Fatal System Error}

The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a
status of 0xc0000135 (0x00000000 0x0000000)

The system has been shutdown.

I've tried booting in safe mode or last known configuration but I still
have this error message. Is there any way to solve this problem without
re-installing everything ?

Is the Stop Error really 0xC000021A? If so, see the entry on Jim Eshelman's
Stop Error troubleshooting page here:

Thank you for this answer, but I don't have GoBack installed and IE
already has the latest service pack as your link suggested.

I tried running the XP CD with the repair option (not using repair from
the first screen) but it didn't work.

Any other ideas ?

Since the article discusses a logon security failure, what changed between
the time things worked and the time they didn't? What is the virus/malware
status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and
versions) did you use to determine this?

However, that may all be moot since if you can't get into the system at all
and running a Repair Install didn't help, you really don't have much
choice - you'll need to do a clean install of Windows. I would run some
hardware diagnostics first just to make sure the memory and hard drive are
OK before bothering to do a clean install.
