download problems

hi,
i cant download anything, i recently installed internet
expolorer 6 but it doesnt show the screen it normally
does, all it has is a little red arrow pointing down to a
little box. its really frustrating and i want to know if
it is normal on ie6 or is it just that my computer is
stuffed. can someone pleease healp
