Is it possible to download the whole internet explorer sp1 fro win xp.
The reason I am asking is because I feel that there is something wrong with
IE 6 sp1 that is running on my computer. I went to add remove programs to
try and repair but IE 6 is not on the list.

Internet Explorer repair is not an option for the version that shipped with
the XP OS in a clean or full install.

It may be an option in and upgrade install from a win9x OS in add/remove
programs.

Unchecking IE in the add/remove components in XP does not uninstall IE, it
only deletes the IE icons.

You can reinstall IE using the following command line in the run dialog:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\Inf\ie.inf

The XP cd may be needed for a re-install of IE.

( watch the word wrap, there is a space between 132 and % )

Hi Nik,

You can store Internet Explorer 6.0 locally for subsequent installations:

Option 1:
Order the IE SP1 CD from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.asp

Option 1:
Check this MSKB link on "Download-Only Setup of Internet Explorer on Windows
2000 and Windows XP"
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=257249

Visual aid for saving IE setup locally:
