Double xp at start up

When i start up my machine. My computer starts up fine, through the BIOS but
then comes up with a screen saying that I have two windows XP operating
systems installed a couple of months ago. I tried to install 64-bit version
of Windows that was on the Windows website for free. After that, I tried to
delete it and install my version of Microsoft home. But from now on, I keep
on getting two Microsoft homes to choose from, and the 30 sec counter before
my system will boot does anyone know how to remove one of the operating
system is (as I don't think one of the Windows operating systems Is there) to
stop this 30 second delay from happening. I have tried everything but need
some help now, many thanks

- In Windows Explorer -> Tools -> Folder Options ->View -> Uncheck
"Hide protected Operating System files"

- And edit file c:/boot.ini. If u can't find this file u can search
"boot.ini"
- Edit "timeout=30" or change the first boot windows.

Hope it helps
