Hey Friends,
Plz. help me to solve my problem, the problem is:
I did install "PRO ENGINEER WILDFIRE" software on WIN2000
Pro. its properly installed,
I have some files created in the software whenever I
double click on that file its not opening the software.
If i want to open that file frist I have to open that
software then I can open by using that File>Open file> or
form the Open icon.
but for other software files just like Word, Excel, or
any other I can open by simple double click,

Any idea any help,

OK, it sounds like you want to create a file assocation, here's how:
1. Right-click on the file that you want to open
2. Choose "Open With", then "Choose Program..."
3. Highlight PRO ENGINEER WILDFIRE, if it is not in the list then you will
need to search for it (choose "Other...")
4. Select the checkbox to "Always use this program to open these files

Yes friend, I did check it before its there, there is
nothing wrong with that setting, before posting this that
my first msg. I did check each and every thing then i
posted that msg. now even i reinstall that software but
the problem is still there, so plz. any help.

Well, if you go into the registry, you can create the necessary entries (if
the reason your file association is not working is because the proper
registry entries are not present).....

1. Create the following key structure in the registry (where .EXT is the
extension of the file you are working with)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.EXT\shell\open\command
2. Double-click on the REG_SZ value named "(Default)"
3. For the "Value data:", enter the full path to the executable for the
application that you want to have the file open in (enclose this string in
double quotes if there are any spaces)
4. Close the registry editor
