Double click .ppt file - opens as slide show

Has anyone ever heard of a .ppt file opening as a slide show when you double
click on it? Is there any setting in powerpoint that might be trying to
default open as a slide show?

Thanks.

In PowerPoint, click File > Save As. Under Save As Type, select PowerPoint
Show (*.pps).

Alternately, you can also change the .ppt extension to .pps.

PowerPoint Show will allow you to start slide show immediately when you
double click on the file instead of opening in edit mode.

It will if the file association points to the PowerPoint viewer.
