Don't want my calendar/contacts/emails on the msn.com server

I recently upgraded my personal email on msn and I'm running Outlook 2003
with the Outlook connector. How do I eliminate the calendar & contacts that
are with my msn.com account so they are only in my personal folders? Also I
would like my emails to be deleted from the server when they download.

Not possible. Hotmail is a HTTP account. This means all information is
stored on a server and you work with a cached copy of that mailbox so you
can also work with your files off-line. The Outlook Connector is the tool
that makes sure the synchronisation occurs between your local computer and
the Hotmail server.

That makes sense for the email but does it also have to be true for Calendar
and Contacts? Can I not use the Connector and just map my email to msn.com?

You can do without the Outlook Connector but note that you then cannot use
drag & drop to move messages from your pst-file to your Hotmail store (I
just love this feature!) so you can access those mails through Hotmail as
well. Also the Outlook Connector provides a much more stable connection to
the online mailbox and is better in restoring the connection as well.

If you keep Outlook (2003) in the Mail Navigation you'll never see the
Contacts and Calendar folder. You can also create your own list of folders
by using the Shortcuts Navigation.
