Outlook 2007 Email

Email receipt stopped working recently on Outlook 2007. Haven't installed
any new software, no system changes, nothing; I can still send mail, just not
receive. Stopped around 22 July, and I see other users having the same issue
around that date. F9 apparently initiates send/receive successfully, but no
new mail since 22 July; "Server Status" button continually says "Connecting"
for Mail, Calendar and Contacts. All other functions appear to work.
Windows Vista Home Premium OS. I use Outlook Connector v12.0.4518.1068 to
connect to my MSN.com account. Hotmail, MSN and Windows Live all work and
update my mail; just not in Outlook. Should I remove/reinstall Outlook?
Reinstall Connector? I'm stumped - any assistance appreciated!

The plot thickens. I removed my email account through Tools/Account
Settings, added a new account (same one), and it showed up under my Mail
Folders like before - I just can't expand the folders or delete from my
folder list - and it doesn't show up in Account Settings under the Email tab.
When I try to expand the folders I get the popup message "The set of folders
cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened." If I add the
account a second time, it adds it again to my folder list, still can't be
opened, but it shows up under the email tab in Account Settings, and I can
delete it. Something is seriously dorked....

DO NOT DO ANYTHING! LOL. For four days now I have done absolutely
everything to get my outlook 2007 re-linked to my windows live hotmail
account. I shall not bore you with my efforts. Anyway, after speaking
with a paid Microsoft tech for 3 hours...yes, three hours and even
after he took control of my pc from his remote location and did
essentially everything that I had already done, it was determined that
THIS IS A MICROSOFT ISSUE. The web based hotmail is fine, however the
server that connects from that service to your outlook through the
outlook connector is messed up and they indicate they are working hard
to get it fixed.

This does not effect all hotmail/outlook users, but many. There really
is nothing you can do. I tried creating a new hotmail and live.com
email address and had the same result. My server status for the
outlook is "connecting" NOT connected and until it connects there is
no fix.

Microsoft paid tech support is as lame as anything I have ever seen.

Will update here when I have more to share.
