I do not understand why IME for Windows 95, 98, NT, and XP are availble
online for anyone to download but not for Windows 2000. I don't think it's
fair... People, like me who do not have Windows 2000 Professional CD from the
beginning (when we purchased the computer/laptop), would never be able to
have IME for non-English language? This frustrates me very much.

Note: the Global IMEs are not necessary or supported on Windows 2000 since
that OS has full-featured East Asian input support built in. Please go to
the Windows Control Panel, find the Regional Options applet and do the
following:

1.. In the General Tab, find the "Language Settings" area and add the
language you wish to use. This should start a copy process - you'll need
your Windows 2000 CD.
2.. After the install has completed, select the "Input Locales" tab and
then add your keyboard/IME to the active list.
3.. Restart your system.

Order a copy of the cd, it's less than $30 it's called a media kit.

You can ask the vendor, perhaps there was a cd that came with it with all
the files you'd need. However for $30, i would say my time is worth more
than contacting the store vendor and just order the cd.

If W2K - or any other version of Windows, for that matter -
was pre-installed on the system when you bought it, then the
vendor was obligated to provide you with a CD and a license.
When a vendor does not provide you with those things, then
odds are overwhelming that the copy of Windows on your system
is a pirated one.
