Don't read the 'max payne 2 news' thread; it's a spoiler...

If you want to play Max Payne 2, don't open/read the 'max payne 2 news'
thread, three or four threads below this one. It gives a few details about
the game you probably don't want to know until you've had a chance to play
it.

Some kid (either mentally or physically) just figured out that 'it' can type
anything 'it' wants while sitting behind the computer screen.

Yeah, it was a silly trick. On the other hand, I know Romeo and Juliet
commit suicide in the end, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the rest
of the story.

Anyone who would be turned off the game because of a semi-literate
oversimplification like that would probably not watch Excalibur after
reading a blurb that said "Boy pulls sword from stone, becomes king. Magic
and jousts ensue. Loses queen to best friend. No more Camelot."

Well I do agree it shouldn't put you off, but I also found it
extremley irritating being halfway through the game, it may
be bloody obvious from the general tone of the story, but
that's not the point.

Same happened with Halo, I'd managed to completley avoid
finding out the twist in this one for two years until PC
bloody Zone (UK) spoiled it in the review. Not in the main
body where they had the decency to warn you in the paragraph
before, but in the 'missed opportunity' boxout they did,
which contained no warning whatsoever.

I reached the point in the game where it started to play out
& thought this would have had much more impact if I didn't
know 100% what was coming next.

And they wonder why people just look at the score to see if
they should buy a game or not. The review either spoils it or
doesn't talk about anything relevant.
