Domain time

My root domain controller is set to get time from the
Navy's site. My domain clients all get time from a DC.
My question is how do non DC servers get time? Do they
automatically check with the root domain controller? If so
how often? Time does appear to be syncd acroos the domain.

Thanks

By default, all non domain controllers whether they are workstations or
servers get their time from the authenticating domain controller as part of
the domain logon process. The domain PDC is the time source for all domain
controllers in the domain, and if there are multiple domains in the forest,
the forest root PDC is the ultimate time source.
