I have five DCs in my forrest. all w2k. I have
w95,98,me,2000,xp machines accessing this domain. If i
change from mixed to natvie mode (AD Users And Computers,
Right click on domain name, click CHANGE MODE), will my
legacy be affected?

KB ARTICLE ANYWHERE?

The switch to native mode only affects replication between a Win 2k DC and a
NT 4.0 BDC in the SAME domain.
It does not affect:
Clients in the native mode domain
Win 2k member servers in same domain
NT 4.0 member servers in the same domain
Trusts with NT 4.0 domains
Trusts with Win 2k mixed mode domains
Trusts with Win 2k Native mode domains
Clients in the trusted domains
Member servers in the trusted domains
DCs in the trusted domains

I would also test the applications you intend to run on a native mode AD lab
before raising the functional level of the domain. Although a PDC emulator
will still exist, some legacy applications may have problems with a native
mode active directory domain.
