Domain Controller IP change

Are there any potential problems with readdressing a domain controller? I'm
replacing a DC, and I want the replacement to have the original's IP address
eventually. Planning to join new member server to domain with different IP
address, demote current DC (I've got 3 additional & all FSMO roles have been
transferred to one of the 3), change name of former DC, change name of new DC
to old DC's original name, promote to DC, take original DC (now a member
server) offline, change new DC IP address to original DC's IP address. Thanks
in advance!

Generally there is no problem.... however, domain controllers are typically
DNS servers as well. So, you will need to make sure that the TCP/IP
configuration of all the clients changes. Also, make sure that you have a
reverse lookup zone created for the subnet that the DC will now be on.

Also, you will want to make sure that the new IP address appears in the
Active Directory Sites and Services as a valida subnet assigned to the site.

DNS should be OK, because I'm going to take the original DC's IP address
after off-lining it. Thanks!
