Domain controller demotion

I have a domain Controller server in WIN 2k AS
Domain .,the problem is that when I try to demote this
server I got a message which says.
the operation failed because
the directory service failed to replicate off changes made
locally.
"the DSA operation is unable to proceed because of a DNS
lookup failure"
Please Help
ur urgent Reply will be too much appreciated

Make certain this server's TCP/IP DNS client settings are pointing to a DNS
server that hosts its domain's internal Active Directory DNS SRV records.
