Domain Controller Configuration

G

Guest

I currently have a Windows NT 4.0 machine acting as the domain controller for
my home network. I am considering an upgrade to Windows Xp on a new machine
but I need to know if XP can be configured as a domain controller.

Any help is appreciated

XP can not be a domain controller. Go with Windows 2000 or 2003 server.

First: ACS1, are you running NT 4 Workstation or Server?

Second: Danny, do you mean upgrade to 2000 Pro or Server?

Win 2k pro can not be a domain controller either. You need a "Server"
operating system to have a domain controller.

Go with Windows 2000 server or Windows 2003 server
