Hi

I hope you can help, I recently bought a couple of PC DVD rom games for my
son it says on the box that they are only DVD compatible, I thought fine
because I have a DVD rom on my PC, however when I put them in the drive
nothing happens, when I look on 'My Computer' it is not even registered that
a disc is in the drive and request that I insert a disc. What am I doing
wrong?

Hi Vixal,

What make and model is your DVD ROM?

Hi Vixal,

Okay, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't read DVD's.
Are you having the same problem with other DVD Discs? If so ...

Click on My Computer and highlight the dvd drive.
Right click and select properties. The statement
"This device is working properly" should be present.
If not or you see another message, try to update the device driver.
In the My Computer screen, highlight the dvd drive,
and select the Properties screen, select Drivers, and then select
update device driver.

Hi Jimmy,

Yes it can't read a normal DVD either although I do have power DVD
available, it says the device is working properly and it has the latest
driver available. I'm beginning to wonder whether my system just isn't up to
scratch I think I'll send my PC for a service. Thanks for all your help
