Doesn't load pictures - several refreshes work

I know there are lots of issues with the red x's connected to download
speeds, but I think mine is different.

I have XP Rpo, IE 6, on a 2.6 Ghz machine and a very good DSL connection. I
have several other PC's in the house sharing the same connection and are not
experiencing this issue. My work PC is a MUCH slower PC on a much slower
connection and doesn't do it.

I constantly go to sites and get few, if any images. I have to hit refresh
several times. Each refresh will load different pics and eventually I can
get them all.

It's got to be a download time limit of some sort I think, but I'm not sure
where to go fix it.

Ideas?

Thanks,
Tin

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.
If still no joy then have a look at this page for other issues.

I know that my hosts file will block some pictures, those hiding being some
spywares.
It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.

My host file is empty.

I've already cleared my cache.

I'm going through the link you gave me.

Thanks,
Tin
