Does Vista handle font size better than XP?

As monitor resolution continues to improve it seems to me that Windows
software is not quite keeping up. My 19" LCD monitor is 1280 X 1024. I
don't like to sit right next to my monitor so I have to increase the
font size to compensate for the extremely fine resolution. I use
Display Properties/Settings/Advanced and increase the DPI setting to do
this. About 80% of the time it works great but the other 20% weird
stuff happens like overlapping text.

Has Vista addressed this problem?

Your issue is likely associated with your video adapter.
What is the make and model?

I believe you'll be quite pleased with the manner in which
Windows Vista utilizes display resolutions, especially since
your have a ATI Radeon X1300PRO video card. There
is a huge enhancement of clarity with Vista.
