Does all the windows installables come in .msi format???

Hi,
Does all windows installables come in .msi format ?? Or are there any tools
to convert it into .msi format ???
What format does the patches in windows come ?? is it .msp always ???

No, it depends on the setup author which tool and format he decides to use.
You cannot "convert" setups to msi format, but in certain scenarios it's
possible to "repackage" them in msi format, or to "wrap" them with a msi
package.

Microsoft decided to use msi for their applications, and a non-msi tool for
operating system updates. If the application was installed as msi package
the patch will usually be a .msp (might be wrapped in an exe).

Loads of tools to convert to .msi, WinINSTALL, Adminstudio, Wise etc.
It's not just a simple job to 'convert' something to MSI as there are
usually a lot of things to take into account (it's a job in itself!).
What format does the patches in windows come ?? is it .msp always ???

Usually .exe

what format does the OS patches come?? Is there are separate tool for
installing OS patches ?? or windows installer can it be used of installing OS
patches as well.
