document scanning

I have an epson perfection 1250 scanner and it worked fine before I bought
this new computer. Now when i tried to scan a document to word 2003 it said
that the application may be unable to open the image files. SO I went into
microsoft office document scanning and I believe I really screwed things up.
Now when I go to scan the image is completely black. Help I have no idea what
to do. How do I get my scanner running again independently from the microsoft
scanning program and if I do how can I fix the error message I previously
received? thanks for all your help

Try using Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard. I always use that, and it
scans it into my computer instead. Then, when I pull up Word, I INSERT the
file from the computer [go to Insert>Picture>From File and then select the
picture] and if I want text wrapping, I go to Format>Picture, and click the
"Layout" tab.
