How to scan a text document that MSWord recognizes as text?

How can I scan a text document from my scanner (HP6280 all in one) and have
MS Word recognize it as a text document so I can edit it?

Scan it into the OCR software that may have come with your scanner
OR
Scan it into Microsoft Office Document Imaging (a rudimentary OCR tool that
comes with Office but which is not installed by default)..
