Scanning documents into Word

So save time and not re-key an entire document, I want to scan a document
into Word and then be able to edit the text. I can scan the document into
Word through Clip Art as a picture but can not save or convert the image to a
text file so that I can edit the text.

Any suggestions? I am running windows XP with Office 2007

What version Office? You can use Document Imaging and send the scan to Word.
Start, Microsoft Office Tools, Microsoft Document Imaging.
