Do I understand DST correctly....?

We have users in Mexico that use Office XP. Since Mexico is not observing the
new DST rules, there is NOTHING that needs to be done with their Outlook,
correct?

I did notice on a couple of the Mexico systems, that they had a time zone
for US, I've changed them to use a MX time zone.

Correct. As long as they are in set for a US zone, they don't need to do
anything to Outlook.

But, what about this...

As I mentioned, we had a few systems in MX that had a US time zone. We've
since changed them to a MX time zone.

What about the meetings/appointments they scheduled in Outlook while they
were using the US time zone? Will we still need to use the update utility to
update these?

How does Outlook get it's time zone? Does it default to the OS time zone? If
the OS time zone is changed, does the Outlook time zone change automatically?

Outlook stores the time in UTC format and displays the local time based on
the computer's time zone setting. If they scheduled appointments in us time
zones and then changed to mx zones, assuming the time was the same in both
zones (i.e., -0700 offset), there should not be a problem now that they
changed to MX zone.
